Sampson Gray is a renowned Navajo silversmith from Pinedale, NM. Raised in a very traditional Navajo lifestyle, Sampson learned much of his skill from his mother, Annie C. Gray. By the age of 12 he was already helping his mother with her work and by 16 he started making jewelry on his own. Sampson is well known for his beautiful silver and gold boxes and pots, as well as impressive silver overlay.
Sampson’s craft means a lot to him because he is carrying on his mother’s tradition. “It’s fulfilling and I am amazed with the elegance when the piece is finished,” said Sampson. Sampson Gray currently lives in Arizona.
