Patrick Taylor is from Chimney Butte, Arizona on the Navajo reservation. He comes from a creative family.  His mother, Roselyn Taylor, is a weaver, and his sister, Rita Begay, is a jeweler. He learned designs from his grandfather, Frank Taylor, and his father, Dennis Taylor.

He was a champion runner for four years in high school at Ft. Wingate, New Mexico. He still holds the state long distance running record set in 1974.  Patrick has been a silversmith since he was a teenager and has children of his own and hopes that they will continue in the family tradition.

Patrick says he is self-taught and he often utilizes heavy gauge silver with deep stamping.  He works with stones as well and has entered his work in many juried shows. Among his awards are Best of Show, Best Craftsman and Excellence in Silver Jewelry.  Although his jewelry is mostly traditional, Patrick also does contemporary designs.
