Natasha Peshlakai, from the Navajo tribe, was born in the 1980s. She collaborates with her father, Norbert Peshlakai, a well known silversmith. He taught her the basics, such as: simple stamp work, how to use true torch for soldering, sand casting and how to “keep the ideas flowing.” She began working with jewelry at the age of 12 and her first piece, a pair of bunny earrings, earned a second-place ribbon at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 1993.

Today, Natasha has made silver-smithing her full time career, and she continues to receive recognition for her work in Native American jewelry. Natasha's pieces exhibit the high standards and exacting craftsmanship for which her family is already well known.  Her father continues to be her mentor, and they enjoy working on different projects together.

Natasha is married to Ben Haley, who is also an artist from a well-known family of silversmiths.  Together they have a son and live in New Mexico.

Sadly, Natasha passed away April, 2019. She will be dearly missed!
