Hayden Owen Yazzie was born May 8th, 2005. He is the third child and the second son of Veltenia Haley. Hayden is the first son in the line of the Haley family that has not only expressed an interest in the bead making, but is already quite accomplished as a young teenager. He caught on quickly as a sixth generation bead maker, and he signs his beads “HY 6” in homage to his place in the lineage. His sister, Alliyah and cousins are also young beadmakers. His Mom, Veltenia, thinks Hayden has a bright future and might be the one who will really carry on this tradition. He is proud to do so.
In his spare time Hayden likes video games and sports such as basketball, baseball and football. He does very well in school, and his favorite subject is math, a subject that well serves him in his bead making. Hayden lives with his mother, five siblings and grandparents, Ruby and Ben Sr., in Twin Lakes, New Mexico.
We are thrilled to have such a young artist with so much promise!
